In the retreat package was eight cards with different words to express our feeling that coincided with that days topic.
Disappointment, Guilt, Rejection, Anxiety, Alone, Ashamed, Angry and Hurt. This was a deal breaker for me, because it gave you words to describe what your emotions in regards to the topic of that day. For me sometimes it’s hard to put into words, what you are feeling, by having the cards took that pressure off you. Reflecting, I must say the card that made me think after the retreat is the card
Disappointment, ,this is a powerful word, during my research, this is what it means to me,
Roman 5:5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
Facing disappointment is hard, but it helps to remember the definition of disappointment. For me It’s God’s way of showing you a better plan. I once heard someone called disappointment His appointments, and for me there is truth to that..
Remember when it comes to the Lord Himself and His future for us, there cannot be and never will be any disappointment. The world defines hope as something we would like to see happen, but God’s hope is something guaranteed to happen, it’s a sure and certain hope. His kind of hope does not disappoint. But when life itself disappoint you, you’ll find Jesus at the intersection ready to reassure and redirect you..
